➜Fishkill Farms is a beautiful place in upstate New York.
Went apple-picking, as I do every year, right around my birthday.
Needless to say, I’m happy to be 25.
➜it’s your straight up, no-weird-bullshit, real-talk friends that set you right.
Spent the day with one of my busiest homegirls (girrlll open up your sched!), and whaddya know, she’d experienced similar mistreatment from someone eerily twin-like to the source of my own. Reaffirmed: when something isn’t right, trust your gut, and ask your homies. (Seems so obvious, and yet…) And when they respond with ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’ and ‘hell to the fuck no,’ heed their advice.
Dismissed my instincts for a while - easy enough to do when you’ve spent two years living in the land of K-pop and conformity - but damn, lesson learned. Thank god we’re picking up right where we left off, as if 2 years was simply a week; sitting around laughing about how we’ve all gone “soft.” [and getting married and having babies! WTF!!!] Although they’ve admittedly calmed down a ton since our rebellious aZn days, they’ve still got a bit of bite left, and fuck I’ve missed it.
